Lincolnshire Marquee Wedding: Lucy & Tom
As soon as I met Lucy and Tom to talk about their wedding plans I knew I really wanted to photograph their day! I’m a huge fan of outdoorsy weddings (especially when they’re promised to be full of fun and lively guests) and any bride-to-be who is as excited and savvy about photography as Lucy means I can really have fun with the photos.
The whole day took place on Tom’s family farm with the ceremony at All Saints Church in nearby Stamford. There were so many unique and exciting moments at this wedding, it’s amazing what you can do when you have friends and family on board to help plan it all. Not only were we treated to a fly past by Northamptonshire’s famous aerobatic team The Blades, but we also got to enjoy the scents and colour of a beautiful bespoke garden by local designer Peter Eustance. As luck would have it, Tom’s mum runs a catering company so food and drink all came from Mill Farm as did all the floristry which must have taken hours and hours of time. They also had a very kind friend who lent them a vintage Land Rover as their wedding car.
The days running up to the wedding had been pretty wet and wild with the weather, so we were all extra pleased when the sun decided to shine down on the day itself. Typically, I’d been abroad for the entire two weeks of the heatwave last summer so had some serious catching up to do with sunset shots, thankfully Lucy and Tom were up for a wander round the village and happy to soak in the views as the sun went down.
With so many guests it was pretty essential we had two pairs of eyes on the day, so our second shooter Sarah came along to photograph Tom and the boys’ side of the story and help gather a whole load of extra guest shots. We were spoilt for choice with so many happy faces, and I’m super excited to be photographing some of their upcoming weddings this year and see many of them again!
