I always get excited when I receive an enquiry for a wedding at Normanton Church in Rutland, so when I heard about Michelle and Ben’s plans for a rustic winter wedding there I knew it was going to be a great day.
I was also excited to be visiting a new wedding venue, Ladywood Estate, and really can’t stop singing its praises to every couple I meet looking for a relaxed and informal country house wedding. I was particularly impressed that couples and guests are given free reign to enjoy the house and its grounds, a real rarity for country houses in the area.
Not only was it the ideal winter weather with crisp sunshine and blue skies but there was space hopper racing to boot! Hope you enjoy browsing through Ben and Michelle’s images as much as I do.
You can read more about Michelle and Ben’s wedding in a feature from Want That Wedding – a great blog for lots of beautiful wedding inspiration. Or, if you’re still looking for a wedding photographer for your own wedding at Normanton Church please do get in touch, its one of the venues I visit most often!

As a Stamford wedding photographer I’m really lucky to work in the most gorgeous part of the country. It’s no secret that Normanton Church is one of my all-time favourite wedding venues. It truly is stunning and pretty unique as venues go in the UK, a de-consecrated church which seems to float majestically on Rutland Water. I was thrilled to go back there for Amy and Stewart’s wedding in May 2017 and it Read More

I love a good winter wedding. They have such a warm and cosy atmosphere when it’s chilly outside, and even more so if there’s a beautiful blanket of snow. In the last six years I’ve only ever photographed three snowy weddings, two of which have been at Stoke Rochford Hall near Grantham, three years apart Read More
