A whirlwind of colour, creativity and quirkiness…. That’s how I’d sum up Kim and Rory’s wedding at Dove Barn in Suffolk!
Kim and Rory got married at St Mary’s church in the quintessential village of Cavendish in Suffolk on a warm, sunny day in August. Knowing there would be a lot to photograph I suggested booking Olivia as a second shooter to help capture events, including Rory and his ushers getting ready in the morning while I spent some time with Kim and her bridesmaids. Kim really wanted to take some photos amongst the baby pink cottages next to the church after the ceremony as her grandmother used to own one, so we had a lot of fun posing up in the pretty doorways and gardens!
I’d been imaging what Kim and Rory had planned for their wedding for over a year, so when the summer finally came around I couldn’t wait to see what they’d come up with! Kim is an art teacher, so I suspected there could be plenty of hand made touches but nothing prepared me for the fiesta of colour that awaited us at their wedding reception venue Dove Barn. One of the nicest things about this venue is that you can really go to town on customising your wedding to suit yourselves and I’d highly recommend it if anyone out there is looking for a rustic, intimate venue to hold a great wedding! I can’t really say much else about this wedding, the pictures will do that for you! Enjoy!
You can read a little more about Kim and Rory’s day on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings where their wedding was recently featured, including even more photos and words from Kim in the Bride Diaries. If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at Dove Barn please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’d love to work there again!
