Camilla and Jamie’s Uppingham wedding took place in mid-December last year. Uppingham is a beautiful Rutland market town with a cosy atmosphere and quirky architecture, I always adore shooting there and at Christmas time it feels extra special.
Camilla and Jamie wanted lots of natural photos from their wedding and had an early afternoon ceremony to make the most of the December daylight hours. The whole day took place in the centre of Uppingham, with the church ceremony followed by the reception at the Falcon Hotel just across the square. I was joined by the ever wonderful Liv as my Second Shooter for the day so Jamie and the boys could have photos in the morning while I was with Camilla. I love how similar our photos are of both Jamie and Camilla crossing the square to the church – that’s why I love working with Second Shooters I know and trust. It was also fantastic having both of us cover the ceremony as the chaplain allowed us free reign during the service – something thats really unusual and a total blessing (no pun intended). It was so refreshing being able to get full coverage of a church ceremony and Camilla and Jamie’s service photos are definitely some of my all time favourites.
After the church Camilla and Jamie took a bit of time out for their couple photos at Uppingham School, a place which is special for both of them and is also conveniently gorgeous. We spent about 20 minutes shooting in the pretty archways and corners before heading back to the part before it started to get dark. The inside of the Falcon Hotel is really pretty too, especially since its renovation a few years ago. This was the first time I’ve photographed a wedding breakfast in the new conservatory and it provided the perfect blank canvas for Camilla and Jamie’s festive decorations. I hope you enjoy browsing through some of these photos, I do love a good winter wedding!
