Helen and David’s wedding at Swancar House took place in April 2015 and boy was it a beauty! One gorgeous, smiling couple, a bunch of brilliant guests and a unusually warm April’s day. Perfect.
When we first met one of the things that struck me about Helen and David was their incredibly warm personalities and love of detail. I was also totally taken with the thoughtful design that had obviously gone into creating their beautiful countryside home in Leicestershire, so I had my suspicions their wedding would be styled to perfection. David is a musician and Helen loves all things crafty and rustic, things that became integral to their wedding at Swancar House earlier this year.
The day kicked off with everyone getting ready at Swancar House and I was accompanied by second shooter Kate to capture the day unfolding. Helen had painstakingly crafted the boys’ buttonholes out of folded sheet music along with the girls dried hydrangea bouquets. Now that takes some dedication! The ceremony took place inside the loft and was totally heartfelt and unique. Instead of opting for the traditional wedding playlist David and his best man sang Helen down the aisle which was easily one of the most emotional things I’ve ever seen. David surprised everyone again at dinner – including Helen – when he took to the piano to perform his own song penned to celebrate the day. Not a dry eye in the house! I could say so much more about this wedding but if I carry on typing you’ll never get to see the pictures, which I think sum it up far better than words. Enjoy!
