Gemma and John’s vintage-inspired wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns was probably one of the cutest and most perfectly-styled weddings I’ve ever photographed. What a fab start to 2017!
I was so excited when I got Gemma and John’s first email way back in 2015. Gemma is an old school friend who I’d not seen in years, so not only was I looking forward to meeting John but also shooting at Shustoke Farm Barns for the first time. I’d heard lots of good things about this venue and along with Gemma and John’s infectious enthusiasm I couldn’t wait for the day to roll up.
I popped into the barns a few hours before the ceremony to take a quick look around and was completely blown away. Shustoke Farm Barns is just stunning, and the way these two had styled it was right up my street. The gorgeous flowers were provided by Lichfield-based Bloom Fleuriste and lots of the other decorations were home-made by Gemma, John and their families. I particularly loved the travel-themed seating plan and paper windmill wreath.
A few hours later Gemma arrived in a super cute VW camper van named Grace, courtesy of Fifties Chic, and looked amazing in her tea-length wedding dress by House of Mooshki. John looked totally dapper in his by Paul Smith and so did the page boys, Gemma’s nephews, whose reading in the ceremony brought everyone to tears! The whole day went by really effortlessly and I had so much fun photographing Gemma, John and their guests. It’s always wonderful when a couple understand that you need to spend a bit of time on photos to get the best results, and I’m so grateful that Gemma and John were up for all my mad ideas (including climbing over a rather tricky fence!). I hope you enjoy browsing through this lovely wedding.

Lucy and David’s tipi wedding took place at Lucy’s childhood home near Peterborough in June 2016. There’s always something extra special about home-spun weddings and even more so when the venue is a family farm. Lucy and David wanted their wedding to be more like a big party than a traditional wedding and they definitely ...Read More

In fact when I look back through their pictures I can still smell the beautiful herbal centre-pieces and honey-scented bouquets – divine.
