As a Rutland wedding photographer I’m incredibly lucky to visit a place full of gorgeous little villages and rolling hills for my job. As I recently relocated to the area I thought I’d share some of my favourite Rutland weddings to celebrate the beauty of the UK’s smallest county. If you’re getting married in Oakham, Uppingham or Stamford and are looking for a Rutland Wedding Photographer please do get in touch to check availability, I’d love to hear about your plans.
Charli and Will’s wedding took place in the village of Barrowden. The style of the day was themed around countryside pursuits with a particular focus on artisan food and drink. Check out their wedding in full here if you’d like to see more.
Normanton Church and Barnsdale Gardens were the fabulous locations for Gemma and Tom’s wedding in June 2016, check out some of their gorgeous home-spun wedding photos here.
Normanton Church on the south shore of Rutland Water is one of my very favourite venues for wedding ceremonies. I’ve seen Normanton Church at all times of year and almost all weather now (apart from snow!) and love the challenge of constantly creating new shots here. Check out some more photos here.
Kay and Gareth’s wedding was super vintage and incredibly stylish. They got married in the chapel at Uppingham School in April 2015. Uppingham is a really great spot for pre-wedding shoots and also boasts the Falcon Hotel, another super Rutland wedding venue. See more of Kay and Gareth’s day on the blog.
Normanton Church looks heavenly at sunset, and at Laura and Mitch’s wedding in September 2015 I was able to capture this for the first time. These two got married in the church and held their reception at the neighbouring Normanton Park Hotel. This was my first time at the hotel and Laura and Mitch’s wedding really made it a visit to remember. See more of their photos here.
In June 2015 I photographed my first wedding at Barnsdale Gardens. This really is a very special venue, only holding a handful of weddings a year. Jodie and Kieran’s wedding was picture-perfect, we had glorious sunshine and flowers everywhere in full bloom. Have a browse through their photos on the blog.
Kelly and Chris’ wedding took place at Normanton Church and was followed by a summertime celebration at nearby Broccoli Bottom B&B in Manton. This was the first wedding held at Broccoli Bottom and was filled with lots of beautiful creative detail. See more of their images here.
Kelly and Toby held their wedding ceremony at Normanton Church on the 2014 August Bank Holiday. This was the first time I’d photographed a wedding where guests arrived by boat, the Rutland Belle, and the whole day was a super-relaxed and informal affair. Check out their colourful and quirky tipi wedding on the blog.
Michelle and Ben’s wedding took me to Normanton Church and Ladywood Estate for the first time in December 2013. I wasn’t sure how Normanton would look in the winter but we were blessed with warm sunshine. Check out some of their photos from these two lovely Rutland wedding venues here.

So last Tuesday was just a typical weekday in my office. Answering emails, editing and planning next year’s shoots. I was actually just clocking off for the evening when a quick glance at my messages stopped me in my tracks – I’d just been Highly Commended for the East Midland’s Best Wedding Photographer in the Wedding Industry Awards. As a Stamford wedding photographer I’m really lucky to work in the most gorgeous part of the country. Being based right on the edge of Rutland means a lot of the weddings I shoot take place at private homes and gardens which is great, because each setting is totally unique and pretty unlikely to be Read More

Charli and Will’s Rutland wedding was full of the sights, sounds and scents of the English countryside. In fact when I look back through their pictures I can still smell the beautiful herbal centre-pieces and honey-scented bouquets – divine. It was a particularly hot summer’s day when I first met Rosie and Thanasis in Southorpe. We spent about an hour chatting through wedding ideas in the garden, sunglasses on, drinking cups of tea in the sunshine. I remember thinking that we’d be very lucky to be spend this much time outside at the end of October, Read More

It’s no secret that Normanton Church is one of my all-time favourite wedding venues. It truly is stunning and pretty unique as venues go in the UK, a de-consecrated church which seems to float majestically on Rutland Water. I was thrilled to go back there for Amy and Stewart’s wedding in May 2017 and it Read More
