Naomi and Matt’s wedding took place at one of my favourite Cambridgeshire wedding venues, Barrington Hall. It’s quite unusual to find a private home venue like this which allows guests such free reign and freedom to enjoy the house. I always enjoy my visits here, the wedding coordinators are so organised and welcoming too.
Now one of the questions I get asked the most by newly engaged couples is what happens if it rains on their wedding day. My answer is always the same – pretty much everything that would happen if it’s not raining, don’t worry. More often than not it’s still possible to take at least some photos outside, all you need to do is grab a brolly and go for it. And that’s exactly how things panned out for Naomi and Matt.
Naomi and Matt’s day began in the village of Orwell. Getting ready just a few streets away from each other meant that I was able to pop in to see both of them in the morning which was fun as it’s something I usually wouldn’t get to do. The rain was in full swing by the time the ceremony started at Orwell church but I think the shots of Naomi arriving with her umbrella-wielding-dad are so lovely – full of movement and laughter. We worked around the weather for the rest of the afternoon, grabbing a few shots outside as and when we could. Naomi and Matt were so relaxed and easy-going, they totally understood that you have to grab the chance of getting outside when you can, even if you’re about to give your speech (sorry Matt!).
I hope you enjoy browsing through some of their photos below and if you’re planning your own wedding at Barrington Hall and looking for a photographer please do get in touch, it’s one of my favourite places!
