Sometimes as a wedding photographer you come across a venue you instantly fall in love with. For me that venue is Caswell House in Oxfordshire. I’ve photographed three weddings at this gorgeous barn venue now and would love to go back again soon. With its beautiful Cotswold stone and pretty gardens there are tonnes of ways you can get great photos here. I just wish I lived a bit closer!
Lucy and Matt’s Caswell House wedding took place on one of the nicest summer days of August last year. This was the first time I’d had the opportunity to photograph an outdoor ceremony at Caswell and it just looked stunning, just like one of those quintessentially English weddings you see in films. Both Lucy and Matt got ready on site in the morning, making it easy for me to pop between them to see what everyone was up to. They wanted their wedding to have a relaxed and rustic feel and had put a lot of effort into styling their day. Friends and family had chipped in with much of the decoration and I was particularly fond of their wedding stationery, designed by Lucy’s sister Emma. Other suppliers included Joanna Carter Wedding Flowers, The Pretty Cake Company (both local to Caswell House) and the ever-fabulous Licence to Ceilidh who got everyone up and dancing in the evening. I love shooting weddings like this but the real reason I love these photos so much is because of Lucy and Matt. Honestly they did not stop smiling all day and were totally chilled when it came to their photography – my kinda couple!
