When it gets to this time of year I always feel reflective about everything that’s happened over the last 12 months. Now I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks 2016 was a pretty peculiar year, but on a personal level and in my work as a wedding photographer it was actually one of the best. As some of you will know last year I moved to the pretty town of Bourne in Lincolnshire, which meant juggling weddings along with moving house and relocating my business during peak season. Thankfully this year has been a bit more easy going and along with settling into my new life here I’ve had the pleasure of photographing twenty-nine (soon to be thirty) weddings.
It’s always an exciting job looking through a year’s worth of weddings and it’s incredibly challenging trying to narrow down my favourite images. I always aim to shoot no more than thirty weddings each year, simply because this means I don’t burn out and am fresh for every single one. I’m so lucky to have shot weddings all over the place this year, from beautiful churches just up the road to village halls way down south, from stone barns in the Cotswolds and even across the continent to Slovakia. Here’s a selection of images which I really love and once again would like to thank every single one of my couples for choosing me to photograph the best days of their lives. I can’t wait to do it all over again in 2017!
